13th Street Manor is one of the most amazing haunts I have ever seen! From the immaculate attention to detail of scenery, to the actors and props, Primitive Fear is an absolute must see. At a glance driving by, the haunt seems like any other, but when you enter, your thoughts are put to rest. You will be totally intrigued by this haunt even before you actually enter, due to the amazing set they have created. When waiting to enter this haunt I actually felt scared because every little thing seems so real that you feel you have entered a horror film. As you look at the set design on the outside of the haunt you will be totally delighted by how real the set designers have made everything look.

When you enter this haunt be prepared to come face to face with some of your most extreme fears. For instance, if you hate to be confined, be careful because the walls have a tendency to move on you. Also the attic scene here was totally amazing because you actually walk upstairs to get into it, which is the first I have ever experienced. Usually you can never go to a higher level; this added a huge amount of realism to me personally and made the haunt that much better.

Lastly, I have to mention the chainsaw scene. Usually you have the same chainsaw guy run after you but not here. You will have to see for yourself, but they do not quit and you will be scared. This will be by far one of the best haunts you see in your lifetime. So I highly recommend you visit 13th Street Manor this year because it is as close to perfect as I believe a haunt can get.

The 13th Street Manor joins its sister haunt in the same plain looking metal building near the dog track in Commerce City, but this building holds a secret. Walking into the front of the building is only slightly less assuming than the outside of the building. The hallway to the ticket booth is plastered with posters for the PF13 attractions done up to resemble oversized movie posters you would see at any theatre. I recommend hurrying through this area to join everyone where the real fun begins.

Buy your ticket and walk through the doors nearby and you’ll be instantly transported to the world of PF13. New this year is a huge indoor façade replacing the previous outdoor entrances of years past. This façade really is amazing as it is huge and detailed and at the same time wonderfully lit. On the right side the façade looks as though there is a lot of ancient stone work and feels slightly organic but deceased. This is the queue line and entrance for 13th Street Manor’s sister haunt Primitive Fear. The left side of the Façade is dedicated to the Manor. It looks spot on for a long abandoned mansion where nature has started to take its course. When waiting in line it is possible to look up above and see other visitors passing by the attic windows. This made it seem even more real, like this really is an old house.

The inside of the house is just as detailed as the outside, the walls, the props etc., everything looks as though it has been left to decay for a few decades inside this old house. The rooms themselves are also impressive with the interaction and some of the rooms themselves pose a danger, not just the inhabitants. Walls will block your way leaving you stuck with monsters, walls and ceilings will collapse on you. The house almost feels as though it has a personality itself.

The actors in the house also very much get into their characters and interact with the visitors. One such notable character enjoys spending his time in the library. He’s a pleasant enough fellow, but there is something just not right about him and that makes him all the creepier. This house also proves that there truly are monsters under your bed, in your walls and around every corner.

The Haunts at PF13 this year have really been improved and that’s saying something as they have always been among Denver’s best haunted houses. Without a shadow of a doubt, PF13 should be on the short list of haunts to visit this year.

For those of us, myself included, that seek that ultimate haunt that has true authenticity, a haunt that assaults all of your senses simultaneously and reaches into the very core of your soul and rocks your world, then you absolutely MUST get to PF13!! It is a MUST SEE this year! It is a serious haunt enthusiast’s wildest dreams brought to life! Denver, we have arrived!

The exterior set design is so stunning; I could stand in line all day just taking in the minute details that have gone into the most visually striking haunt façade I have ever seen. Nothing has been overlooked, down to dusty window sills, weathered buildings, worn shop signs and cracked windows. The lighting inside and out, is era and environment dead on the money. Sounds and smells are precisely what you would imagine them to be in a genuine haunted manor. It is perfection.

And that is merely the outside. Once inside, be prepared to be taken an incredible journey that brings you face to face, literally, with your deepest fears. What scares you? The dark? Confined spaces? The severely deranged? Being touched by an unknown hand in the dark? They are all here; along with fears you never knew you had that will be revealed during your visit.

I had to coax a group that was in front of me, and then ended up behind me through the haunt. This group of three had become one entity and was literally paralyzed by fear and stood frozen, near hysterics. They followed me through and theirs was the most fantastic reaction I have seen in a haunt. These three were terrified beyond what they could cope with. I was sure someone was going to faint. That’s when you KNOW you are witnessing something really incredible!

The interior design of the haunt is superb beyond words. Once you walk in the front door, reality takes a back seat and you are fully immersed in a true haunted manor. The layout is exactly what you would expect and no details were spared. Please, please don’t close your eyes or try to really hurry through. Look around, and take in the most spectacular set design you may ever see. Full suspension of disbelief is easily achieved in here and that is only the beginning. Just when you think they couldn’t possibly outdo themselves, they do, again and again. It truly is a magnificent work of art.

The actors are OUTSTANDING!! This is a truly talented group of people. There was not one actor out of sync and they were not just in costumes in a scene, they were PERFORMING. The actors were living their roles and interacting with guests one on one. The scares the actors generated were not the typical jump or startle we all get. The scares came from very close contact and very believable roles that fit in harmoniously with the sets. The flow from room to room was flawless.

Costumes and makeup were phenomenal and spot on for the time period the house is set in. Paired with the brilliant acting, unsurpassed sets and overall atmosphere, this is one absolutely incredible production that has to be seen, and felt, to be believed. Three hours after going through I was still numb with shock. If I could, I would live within this haunt. It’s my ultimate dream home.

If you only get out to see one haunt this season, this HAS to be the one you see. Miss it and you will be kicking yourself for the next year. This is one intense experience!

This haunt is number one in my rankings this year. It is so updated, and I feel like I am in another world when I’m going through it. The entrance is like a small, old city where nobody lives any longer. Inside, this haunt has so many rooms and a lot of details to them. One of my favorite rooms is the library: It has so many books on the large bookcase, a deranged lady is sitting on a chair, and the room is dusty and the lighting very dim. I try to find my way out, and I find a well-spoken gentlemen. He creeps me out by telling me I’m supposed to join the family. He sends me through a passageway that leads to another room with multiple doors. There I find a creepy guy acting very crazy and encouraging me to pick a door and laughing when I pick the wrong one. How crazy is that? Very crazy!

Elsewhere, I find an inclined room that messes with my senses. It feels like the whole room is sliding. The attic is full with suitcases, boxes and walls falling apart, and it’s dusty as hell. There is a girl sitting quietly. As I walk around her, a hand comes through the wall trying to grab me. I scream. After that room, I go to the basement, where a guy with a non-working chainsaw is waiting for me. He asks if I want to meet Bubba. He is saying that Bubba went crazy and he might like to meet me. Bubba comes out of a wall with another chainsaw, and the other guy joins him to circle us with the loud chainsaws. I try to find my way out, but dead ends surround me. It is a horrible feeling not knowing where to go. Awesome!!!

I cannot express how much I love 13th St. Manor this year. I just wrote a little of the many rooms that impressed me. I think this is a must-see. I hope you love it as much as I do.

13th Street Manor, what can I say? Your haunt is amazing. From the moment you walk in you’re blown away. The entrance flawlessly blends in both 13th Street and Primitive Fear which are completely opposite themes. This gives 13th Street a new feel like you are wandering through a house in some desolate area. Once inside it gets even better. Moving props open new hallways guiding you to new rooms which reveal incredible detail not found anywhere else. Even the ceiling is detailed in certain areas throughout the haunt.

Actors are remarkable. None of them broke character. Some of them provide a feeling of peace which in the end scares you even more than a normal actor providing a simple startle scare. There is one lady who I give props too. She followed me throughout the beginning of the haunt, disappeared in the middle, and reappeared at the end. Usually, other haunts just have one person follow you throughout the entire haunt but not this one which is no surprise to me.

Overall, 13th Street Manor should be recognized on Travel Channel! It is well worth the money and a drive from anywhere in the state.

FACT: All other haunts I have ever seen fail in comparison to 13th St. Manor.

The words amazing, and wow just don’t give this haunt enough credit, but I have never been more wowed in a haunt before, ever! The sets were absolutely fabulous! By looking at them, you can tell they must have spent months on the architecture alone. There was so much detail in every little nook and cranny of this haunt, there wasn’t possibly enough time to appreciate it all.

The acting was unbelievable! There was not even one actor who I thought could have done a better job. I don’t know where they found these people, but they are seriously the best I have ever seen! And each one is different. I love when different personalities shine through, giving the haunt some variety. A lot of these actors invade your personal space, truly bringing the experience to life. Hands down, this haunt had the best chain saw scene I have ever been to. Bubba, you rock! Keep the adrenaline and intensity up…it worked!

As far as length goes, it was a fairly long haunt. You definitely got your money’s worth, and it didn’t feel rushed and it never got boring. Everything this haunt does combines to create the perfect scares, so be ready. If you have ever been to this haunt in the past, the majority of the haunt is completely different. I guarantee you can’t imagine just how much has changed and how much it will rock your face off until you go. You won’t be able to stop talking about it or thinking about it for hours. Also, if you come out for this one, you need to go see Primitive Fear while you’re here. It’s worth it. Trust me. So nice job 13th St. Manor…you won me over. Can’t wait till next year!
